E-wallet

A digital money account (Skrill, Neteller etc.) between the casino and your bank. The fastest withdrawals, but often excluded from the welcome bonus.

Also: e-wallet · digital wallet · web wallet

What does this mean?

An e-wallet is a digital account that sits between your bank and the casino: you top the wallet up and pay from it to casinos and back. The best known are Skrill and Neteller; the advantages are speed — withdrawals often reach the wallet within minutes — and that your bank statement doesn't itemise every casino transaction.

Two drawbacks are worth knowing: e-wallets are excluded from the welcome bonus at many casinos (depositing with a wallet won't activate the bonus), and fees — currency exchange, withdrawing to your bank, inactivity charges — can eat the benefit. Always read both the casino's and the wallet's fee schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Why are e-wallets excluded from bonuses?

Historically they were used to abuse bonuses, since accounts were easy to create. Casinos responded with a blanket exclusion — check the terms before depositing.

Is an e-wallet better than a bank link?

Rarely in Estonia — a bank link is just as fast and free of extra fees. An e-wallet is useful if you play at several casinos and want your money in one place.
