Metrics

Volatility

A metric describing how often and in what amounts a game usually pays. High volatility = rarer but bigger wins.

Also: variance · volatility

What does this mean?

Low-volatility games pay smaller wins more often; high-volatility games pay less often but potentially much more. Volatility helps you judge which bankroll and risk tolerance suit a game.

It doesn't replace RTP — it complements it.

Frequently asked questions

RTP shows how much a game pays back in the long run; volatility shows how variable that journey is. Two different, complementary metrics.

What volatility suits a beginner?

Low or medium volatility gives a smoother experience and lasts longer on a smaller bankroll.
